ROLE: IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT

ROLE: IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT

I am honored to continue on the GNFC Board in 2016, serving as the club’s President. My past roles have included Kid’s Outings, Large Events, Director of Events and most recently Vice President.

I am originally from Connecticut but my family has called the greater Newburyport area home for over 15 years. My husband Chris and I have two children, a 7-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son (yes, almost Irish twins!). We love all that this wonderful community has to offer, but our favorite place to be is the beach.

I have made so many friends and wonderful connections through the Club. I hope to see you at one of our many club events or around town (I seem to always be at the grocery store). Be sure to check out our event calendar on Big Tent!

The GNFC has meant so much to my family and I am proud to be able to give back to the club and the local community.

ROLE: PRESIDENT

Hello! My name is Corinne Poor and I’m very excited to serve as President on the 2017 Board for Greater Newburyport Mothers and Families Club.

A New Englander at heart, it was easy for me to relocate to the North Shore and start a family with my husband Greg. We have two amazing boys, ages 6 & 7, and two adorable black labs.

Since becoming a member in September 2013, GNFC has proven to be a wonderful group, with fun activities/resources for the entire family. I look forward to meeting new faces and reconnecting with familiar faces too!

If I can be of any assistance please feel free to contact me: president@greaternewburyportfamilies.org

ROLE: DIRECTOR OF EVENTS

Hi!  My name is Janelle Woodfall and I am excited to be joining the board for the Greater Newburyport Mothers and Families Club. I’ve been a member of the club for 6 years and am so thankful for all of the friends I have made through the outings, activities and playgroups in this wonderful organization.

I live in West Newbury with my husband and our two kids, where we enjoy visiting the many playgrounds in the area and exploring all of our local beaches.  I attempt to balance my career in product management with being a mom – and each day is a new adventure!  I love where we live and am so happy to be giving back to this amazing group.  I look forward to meeting many of you in this coming year.

It's hard to believe that it's been over a year since I had my first child!  The experience was very exciting and rewarding for me but also a bit isolating and lonely.  It was an enormous blessing when I came across the GNFC and decided to become a member.  The club has been a fantastic network for me!  Not only have I met some amazing people but I have gotten involved in many activities and community events.  I'm honored to be able to give back to the club this year by serving as an Adult Outings Coordinator.
I'm originally from Upstate New Year but have lived in the Boston area for more than 15 years.  I moved to Byfield almost three years ago and have really enjoyed my time in this area.  I have one beautiful daughter named Evelyn.
During my time on the board, I hope to plan activities that get other others excited about being a part of this club as well!  I'm always open to new ideas so please feel free to contact me with any adult outings that you would love to see on our calendar.

ROLE: ADULT OUTINGS

ROLE: ADULT OUTINGS

Hi! My name is Christy Teel and this is my second year on the Board and as part of the Adult Outings Team. I joined the GNFC in 2013, right before the birth of our son, Anderson (3). The community, resources, friendships and support of the GNFC have been invaluable as first time parents and a member of the Newburyport community. During my time on the Board, I hope to plan activities that get other members excited about the Club, our community and meeting new people. If you have any ideas for Adult Outings that you would like to attend, please reach out to me!

In addition to my involvement with the Club, I am a part-time attorney for a medical malpractice firm in Boston, and a full-time mom. My husband, Jon, and I met and live in Newburyport with our three year old son, Boston Terrier (Roscoe) and cat (Zeus). We love to be outdoors, ski as much as possible in the winter and be on the water in the summer. Travel is a passion and we hope that our children will enjoy traveling with us!

The GNFC has been an incredible resource for our family, and I am glad to be able to contribute and give back to the Club and community by serving on the Board.

ROLE: COMMUNITY OUTREACH

ROLE: COMMUNITY OUTREACH
This is my third year on the Board, having served my two previous years as part of the Large Events Team.I joined the GNFC in July 2014, a month before my husband, Christian, and my son, Nash (6), and I relocated to Newburyport from Brooklyn, NY (a bit of a homecoming for me, as I lived on the North Shore until I headed to warmer climates for college). The GNFC’s active online community proved invaluable and helped our family to really feel part of our new home before our actual move.

The GNFC continues to be an incredible resource for our family, and it is has offered me the opportunity to work alongside wonderful women whom I otherwise would not have met.  I value most the opportunity that the GNFC provides to volunteer in an organized and fun way for both GNFC orchestrated and community partner sponsored events.

ROLE: LARGE EVENTS

Hi! I am Alisa Rahilly and this is my second year volunteering on the board.  I am excited to be transitioning from the kids outings team to the large events.

My husband Jeff and I have lived in Amesbury for five years and have a two y/o daughter, Maeve.  We lived in Boston for many years and when we started looking to move out of the city, we fell in love with everything this area has to offer.  I left my job in biotech after having Maeve and have been a stay at home mom ever since; a very different type of job but I love having the opportunity to watch her grow and develop every day.
I really enjoyed getting involved in the club and community over the last year and look forward to planning the family fun events with the team!

I have lived in Newburyport for six years with my husband Tim. We have one daughter, Madeleine (2 1/2 years-old) and a newborn, Connor. After living in Boston for several years after graduate school, we found ourselves drawn to Newburyport for all the wonderful access to the beach and outdoor life as well as the fun downtown atmosphere. In my free time you can find me at the beach or skiing with my family or horseback riding. Professionally, I am a Speech-Language Pathologist at Boston Medical Center and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the MGH Institute of Health Professions.
I am truly looking forward to serving on the GNFC board this year.

I joined the GNFC in 2011 after the birth of my twins – 5 year old Hadley and Benjamin and have loved being a part of this community through playgroups, activities and volunteer events.

I am originally from Ithaca, NY and have lived in the greater Newburyport area for eight years. I will be moving to Newburyport this Spring with my twins and toddler daughter Morgan and are looking forward to walking to the playgrounds and sidewalks after living just outside of town for many years.

I love doing active things outside with my crew and our dining room table is always covered with art projects. I’m looking forward to seeing you at kids events this year!

Hello my name is Ann Wolkovich and I am excited to be joining the GNFC Board as part of the Kid’s Outing Team. My husband and I both grew up in Newburyport but moved to the South Shore for 8 years before moving back to Newburyport with the birth of our second son. We both work in Boston but decided that being close to our families and being able to be back in Newburyport was very important. We have 2 boys Alex (5) and Nikolai (2) who are our pride and joy. I work part time at Brigham and Women’s as an Embryologist and part time at my home business flipping and reupholstering furniture. Both are very rewarding being able to help people in different ways. I wanted to give back to the community, make new friends and enjoy events with my family as a member of the GNFC. I am looking forward to getting to know many of you in the up coming year.

ROLE: COMMUNITY OUTREACH

ROLE: COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Hi There! I'm Tara and it's my second year on the GNFC board. I'm originally from upstate New York (just outside of Saratoga) and met my charming husband Ilya while living in New York City. Ilya persuaded me to make the move to the North Shore of Massachusetts (I told you he was charming!) and I couldn't be happier to have landed here in Newburyport. I'm a very proud mom of two spectacular boys, Lucas (4 years) and William (1 year). They keep me on my toes... so much love, so little sleep. Prior to stay-at-home momhood, I earned a degree in art history and worked for various eyewear designers.

I joined the board to pay forward some of the sheer awesomeness that I've experienced as a member of this group. New baby? We'll bring you dinner. Climbing the walls during the winter months? Here's a fun activity to get your kids out of the house. Need to borrow a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costume stat? We've got you covered.

I'm forever grateful for the fast friendships and frank discussions I've enjoyed during playgroups and can't say enough about what a great resource the forum has been for a transplant new to the area.

I am excited to be serving the Board for my 3rd year on the Community Outreach team. I am originally from Canton, MA and graduated from Georgia Tech and Harvard Graduate School of Education. Work took me to San Diego, Boston, and Verona, Italy, before finally finding my husband and settling down in his hometown of Newburyport. I moved here three and a half years ago and have totally fallen in love with this community. I have a 10-month-old daughter, 2-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old stepdaughter, and a job that I love in math education. My hobbies include running, hiking, Italian wine, and forever trying to balance being a wife, mom, and working professional. I am so grateful for the GNFC and for having other women to support me in this crazy journey of motherhood! I look forward to getting to know many more members in 2016.

ROLE: NEWSLETTER DESIGNER

This is my third year as a GNFC Board member, serving as the newsletter designer. I joined the club after moving to Newburyport with my son three years ago. As a single parent, and self-employed graphic designer, the GNFC has been an invaluable resource to me both personally and professionally and I feel so lucky to be a part of this wonderful group of people.

My son and I love exploring the greater Newburyport area – it’s such a fantastic place to bring up a child! We try to take advantage of the shore, woods and fields whenever we can, and also enjoy living downtown – just a short walk to all the essentials (library, waterfront and Orange Leaf!). In my little bit of free time I knit, make jewelry, read, and swim.
