My name is Kristen Jackman, and I am very excited to serve as the President of the GNFC this year. I am truly grateful to the GNFC for the friendships I've made and for the opportunity to help make a positive impact in our community.
I grew up in Salem, NH and graduated from New York University. After spending several years traveling around the country working in TV news, I met my husband Ken and we decided to settle down in our favorite destination, Newburyport. We have a 5-year-old daughter Madeleine, a 2-year-old son Parker and we just welcomed a new baby boy Preston. We couldn't imagine a better place to raise our family. I am currently a stay-at-home mom, and while it can certainly be a challenging job, it has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience of my life. Every parent takes their own path and there's certainly no magic formula for how to raise kids. I'm enjoying the path I'm on right now and am so happy that I found the GNFC to help me in my journey to be a better parent, spouse, friend, and hopefully a great leader to you all this year.
Having the GNFC as a resource at this time in my life has been an extraordinary gift. I look forward to meeting more members this year and helping you to make the most of all that the GNFC has to offer! If you ever have a question, a concern, or are just looking for someone to meet up with at the playground, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or Kristen.email@example.com…I'd love to hear from you!
Hi, I’m Susan Wagner and this is my third year on the Board. I am one of the co-treasurers and handle all of the reimbursements and payments from the club. My husband and I both grew up closer to Boston and have now lived in Amesbury for 8 yrs. We have 2 girls, ages four and seven, as well as 1 cat, 2 guinea pigs and some fish. We both love the area and the community that we’ve joined, and the GNFC is a big part of that. I’m looking forward to another exciting year with a fantastic group.
I am happy to be returning to the Club in the role of Treasurer. Strangely managing budgets is really exciting to me. I am a mom of a spunky, smart 4 year old boy. I grew up in New England and after a short stint in New York I settled in New England. My husband and I met on Match.com and had a fantastic wedding by the ocean and it was he who lured me to the North Shore. We now live in Amesbury and I work in Portsmouth, NH. I run operations for a professional association in the field of data privacy. I am a trained chef and have a passion for culinary related books. When my little guy is ready I look forward to getting him in a kayak!
I’m happy to be returning for my second year on the GNFC board. In my role as the Membership Director, I look forward to welcoming new members to the group and helping find new and exciting initiatives to keep existing members interested and engaged with GNFC!
I live in Newbury with my husband Brian and my 2 year old daughter Adison. I work full time as a Project Manager for a software company and do my best to juggle work, raising a toddler and trying to stay fit. We are an on-the-go family and love being outdoors, spending time in downtown Newburyport, at the beach, or on our bikes.
I have really enjoyed getting to know so many wonderful women through GNFC in the past 2 years. I'm looking forward to 2014 and new experiences with GNFC and my little one!
Hello. My name is Jamie Sullivan and I am happy to be returning to the board for my third term. In past years, I have held positions in Kid’s Outings and Large Events so I am especially honored to take on my new role as Director of Events. I am looking forward to working with the Large Events, Kid’s and Adult Outings teams to bring you some of the best events yet!
I am originally from Connecticut, but my husband and I have been living in the Newburyport area for the past fifteen years. We currently live in West Newbury. I have two children; my daughter Paige is five and my son Christopher is four (yes, almost Irish twins!). We truly enjoy everything this community has to offer but our favorite place to go is the beach!
I hope to see you at one of the GNFC events or at a playground rotation. If you have any ideas for events that you would like to see added to the calendar, please send them my way!
I am thrilled to be returning to the GNFC Board for the third year. I joined the GNFC in 2010 and have served as both Newcomer Coordinator and Board Secretary/Coordinator.
My husband and I have lived in West Newbury since July 2010. I am a stay-at-home mom to our five year old son, three year old daughter, and a baby boy born in May 2013. We love to travel (though with three children we don't go far anymore), spend time with friends and family, and especially love the beach. Summer days spent at Sandy Point are our favorite!
I first encountered the GNFC at an open house for the Anna Jaques Birth Center three days after we moved to Massachusetts. I was immediately welcomed by the two warm and friendly women there representing the club and struck by their willingness to help get better acquainted with the area. Since that time I have made so many wonderful friends thanks to the GNFC and have really gotten to know and feel a part of the community as a result. I love that I can't seem to go anywhere around Newburyport without running into someone I know!
I think that we are lucky to be a part of what I consider to be a very special group. One of my favorite things about the GNFC is the help we provide one another. People are always willing to give advise, lend a CARES harness or Pack N Play to a virtual stranger on the Big Tent forums, or provide a meal to a new mom. I am looking forward to helping keep the GNFC such a wonderful organization in 2014!
I am honored to serve as the Immediate Past President of the GNFC. I am originally from Connecticut and attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. After graduating from college, I moved to Boston and lived there for 15 years. While my husband Gerry and I loved city living, we knew that we wanted to raise a family elsewhere and searched for several years for the right community. We kept re-visiting the Newburyport area and finally made the move to Newbury in 2010. We have a 4 year old daughter and an 11 year old dog. I work in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry and my hobbies include hiking, wine, and collecting family photographs. Looking forward to meeting more GNFC members in 2014!
Role: Kids Outings
This is my second year on the board, and I am excited to continue working with this amazing group of women! I am a mother of three, with two boys ages 5 and 3, and now a 3 month old baby girl. I am a full time stay at home mom, and also a small business co-owner. I will be continuing on as a Kids Outings Coordinator, a role which I loved last year. One of my personal passions is environmental education, so I have enjoyed planning many nature based events and hope to do so this year! Let me know if you have any other great ideas!
This is my first year on the board and I am excited to join the Kids Outings team! My husband, Pete, and I moved to this area 5 years ago when my son was only 3 months old. I did not know anyone in the area and the Mothers club was a great way for me to meet people, make friends, and specifically, the kids outings introduced me to all the great activities this area has to offer.
My family and I live in Amesbury and I have an almost 6 year old son, Maxx, and a 3 year old daughter, Madelyn. I am a physical therapist and work part time for Home Health VNA, providing physical therapy services to the homebound elderly in Amesbury. We are an outdoorsy family for sure; running, hiking, biking, beach and playgrounds is where we spend most of our time. I look forward to planning events for the kids this year and if you have something specific you would like me to plan please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
My name is Jennifer McCormick and 2014 will be my sixth year volunteering on the board. This year I am involved with the Adult Outings Team. The GNFC has been a wonderful way for me, as a resident and native of Newburyport, to connect with our community in a new and exciting way. Along with my two children; ages 7 and 4, and my husband, we have attended many events and explored new parts of our area through the eyes of a child. I enjoy spending time outdoors at the beach, leisurely biking, and walking. In addition to motherhood, I also own North Shore Language Center; a foreign language learning facility, translation and interpreting company. I look forward to planning some exciting events for the coming year.
Role: Adult Outings Lead
This is my second year as a member of the GNFC and my first year as part of the board, serving as an adult outings coordinator. My husband, Tyler, and I moved to Newburyport 5 1/2 years ago and have fallen in love with all that this city has to offer! We never really felt like we knew many people or had a connection with the community until I became a part of this club. I have met so many wonderful people and have made some great friends over the past year.
Originally from Beverly, MA, I have spent my life on the North Shore and love being within walking distance to the ocean, the train to Boston, and a short drive to the beach. I attended The University of New Hampshire for both undergrad and graduate studies, spending a semester in Spain and a summer in Costa Rica.
I am in my sixth year of teaching elementary school Spanish in Seacoast NH. Outside of teaching I enjoy running, being outside, the beach and a nice glass of wine! Of course nothing beats every single moment I can get with my daughter, watching her grow and learn, smile and laugh!
I look forward to the many new connections that the GNFC will bring in 2014!
This is my second year as part of the GNFC and my first year serving on the board as an Adult Outing Coordinators. I joined the club last fall after the birth of my daughter and have found it an immensely helpful resource as both a new mom as well as someone who is relatively new to the north shore.
My husband Ryan and I are both originally from the Syracuse area of Upstate NY. When we first moved to Massachusetts we spent seven years in the Cambridge/Somerville area and for the past three years have been hard at work fixing up our cute little 1920’s bungalow in Amesbury. We have been very happy with our decision to move to Amesbury and are really thrilled to live in such a beautiful and thriving area. With the birth of our daughter and my membership in the GNFC we’ve taken advantage of many opportunities to meet other families in the area and have really begun to feel integrated into this great community.
I work full time in Boston at the Harvard School of Public Health running a broad range of Executive Education conferences for physicians and public health professionals. I hope to bring some of my professional expertise in event and project management to my new role on the board. I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to bring our members together for all types of outings. Whether you are a fitness buff, newcomer, bookworm, budding chef or wine aficionado we will try to offer something for everyone in 2014, hope to see you at an outing soon!
My name is Lindsay Goff, and I am thrilled to be leading our large events team this year! We look forward to planning some fantastic events for our members, beginning with a Valentine’s Day Dance in February and our annual Easter Egg Hunt in April. We always welcome and appreciate member involvement, so please let me know if you have any ideas or are interested in volunteering to help us with an event! I am originally from Simsbury, CT, as is my husband, and I attended the University of Richmond as an undergrad. After college, I lived in Colorado for a few years before moving back to the east coast to attend graduate school at UNH. Prior to having children, I worked as a high school counselor in both Newburyport and North Andover. Now I am thoroughly enjoying being home with my five-year-old son, three-year-old daughter and seven-year-old chocolate lab. My husband and I lived on Plum Island and in Newbury before purchasing our current home near Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury. When we’re not eating cider donuts and feeding the chickens, we can usually be found outside sledding, skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and camping and boating in the summer. In my spare time, I enjoy running, photography and wine! I look forward to another great year with the GNFC!
Role: Large Events
Role: Large Events
I am very excited to be serving the board as the large events coordinator this year!
I grew up in Fortaleza Brazil where i got my bachelors degree in Business Administration and worked doing Event Planning and more recently in the Pharmaceutical industry.
I moved to the USA in 2002 to expand my work experience, but it was my personal life that changed forever when i meet my husband Ted 7 years ago and later on, with the blessing of our 2 children: Sofia (3 years) and Nathan (5 months) old.
I first got introduced to the GNMFC by a group of wonderful woman that volunteered themselves to deliver meals to my home after i have gave birth to Sofia..
That gesture put a big desire in my heart to give back to other people of this unique community!
I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun and make great friendships though out 2014.
My name is Fran Walker. I am so excited to be joining the board this year as the Playgroup coordinator. As a new mom, I was lucky to have become part of a Playgroup early on. The friends, and connections I have made with the other Playgroup members, have truly been a gift as we navigate parenthood together, and my son has found wonderful friends that he looks forward to seeing and sharing experiences with.My goal as playgroup coordinator is to help connect members together so they too can develop relationships, connections and support amongst their peers on a more intimate level. I look forward to seeing you as the playgroups develop and at the many wonderful events the GNFC has to offer!!
Role: Community Outreach Lead & Role: Volunteer Coordinator
I’m very excited to start my 4th year on the Board of the Greater Newburyport Mothers Club. I previously served as the playgroup coordinator and the volunteer coordinator as well as leading the Community Outreach team. I’m looking forward to focusing all my efforts this year to Community Outreach. As a team, we try to balance different ways we can help in the Community. From coordinating drives to hosting volunteer events, we try to alternate giving opportunities with volunteer opportunities each month. We have made a conscious effort last year to find ways to get the children of the GNFC involved with community efforts, and introduced some great events geared to teaching children the power of giving back. This will be our mission again this year, so keep an eye out for our Big Tent postings. I am currently a stay at home mom with two children, age 6 and 4 and in the midst of a Master’s program to become a school counselor. My husband and I have made Amesbury our home since 2004 and with the support of the GNFC in the early days of motherhood, I’ve made some great friends and learned all that this Community has to offer. I hope you get as much out of this club as I have!
My name is Amanda Bugli and I am excited to be joining the GNFC Board on the Community Outreach Team. I first joined the GNFC after our son was born 4 years ago and have not only made some wonderful friends, but have enjoyed the ability to help out in the community through the Club. I am looking forward to helping organize more of these opportunities for our members.
My husband Chris and I grew up in Newburyport and went away for college. I attended Holy Cross in Worcester and worked in biotech inCambridge before starting our family. When it came time to have our family we decided to come back to Newburyport as we love the area and all that it has to offer. I currently stay home with my 4 year old son and almost 2 year old daughter.
I am looking forward to getting to know many of you in the up coming year.
Valerie Natoli Paquette
I am excited to be joining forces with the Board this year to provide community outreach. I grew up on Long Island, right outside of New York City, and have been living in Massachusetts since graduating from Assumption College in 1991. I am a registered nurse with a bachelors in social work. When I am not busy working as an Early Intervention nurse and raising my 4 children- daughters Samantha, 17, Olivia 6 and Juliette 4, and son Jack 15, I enjoy running, doing Bikram yoga and volunteering in the community.
I am excited to be joining the Board this year as a Community Outreach Coordinator. I am originally from Canton, MA and graduated from Georgia Tech and Harvard Graduate School of Education. Work took me to San Diego, Boston, and Verona, Italy, before finally finding my husband and settling down in his hometown of Newburyport. I moved here a year and a half ago and have totally fallen in love with this community. I have a 7-month-old daughter, a 13-year-old stepdaughter, and a job that I love in math education. My hobbies included running, hiking, Italian wine, and forever trying to balance being a wife, mom, and working professional. I am so grateful for GNFC and for having other women to support me in this crazy journey of motherhood! I look forward to getting to know many more members in 2014.
I’m excited to join the board this year as public relations coordinator.
My husband, our two-year-old daughter and I live in Newburyport. We love being part of such a vibrant community and taking advantage of all this wonderful area has to offer!
I recently left my job as development director at a nonprofit social services agency. I’ll be spending more time with my daughter while also pursuing some part-time freelance writing.
The GNFC has been very important to me since I became a mother. I look forward to getting the word out about all the activities and resources of this great organization!
Hi! My name is Kate Hassan and I am excited to be joining the GNFC board for the first time this year. I grew up in Arlington, MA and graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in marketing. I spent several years working in sales and PR before returning to school for training in graphic and web design. I was working as a web developer prior to the birth of my son and I am currently a stay-at-home mom and freelance graphic designer.
My husband, Brett, and I moved several times over the past ten years. We came to Newburyport in 2012 for Brett's job and we have loved it here from day one. Moving here has been one of the best choices we've made and we hope to stay here for a long time. We really can't imagine a better place to raise our two children; Lila, who is almost 4, and Nolan, who is 2. We love going to the beach and taking walks into town. When I can find the time, I love running, yoga, listening to music, and enjoying a good meal and wine with friends.
This is my second year on the GNFC board, and I feel lucky to be part of an organization that has been such a terrific resource for our family. We've lived in Newburyport for just over four years, and the GNFC has welcomed us to the community by providing great events for our four year old son and our one year old daughter, advice on contractors, businesses, and the area in general, and just plain overall friendliness. We love the area, and are glad to have the chance to connect with other families and to give back when we can.
For work, I run a web development company with my husband, and offer responsive WordPress websites when I'm not out running around the playground with our kids. I majored in painting but these days am sticking to play doh, as it comes off the walls easier. I love to read and will, at any given time, have about 1000 books in queue on my iPhone. Please email me at email@example.com with any questions or feedback about the GNFC site.
Hi, My name is Alissa Cronin and this is 3rd year as a member of GFNC and my 1st year serving on the GFNC Board as the In a Pinch Coordinator and the Volunteer Coordinator. Born and raised in NY, as a teenager my mom moved our family to the Daytona Beach area. Where I met my husband. We moved back to this area as he was born and raised in NBPT. We have two children who are 13 and 3.5, after our youngest was born , I resigned from my job to open a home daycare . While running a home daycare can be very fulfilling, it can be very challenging, toddlers x6 . My education is in Paralegal studies and while I do love my daycare kids, some day after our youngest is in school, I do hope to be back into the working world.
In our spare time, we are committed to baseball ( married to it ), my son plays for an elite league 3x a week training all winter, double headers every sat and sun from april till july. Our youngest is taking a liking to ice skating this year. We love the lake and the beach. I love to read when I can find the time, enjoy time with my friends and yes a glass or two of wine!

Hi! My name is Alissa Christie, and this is my third year serving on the GNFC board as a Newsletter Managing Editor. My husband, Ken, and I moved to Massachusetts about three years ago from New York City. We think Newburyport is an amazing community and a wonderful place to raise a family. We are especially looking forward to all that Newburyport has to offer in the years to come! We are proud parents to a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old daughter. I am currently taking a "time out" from my career as an attorney to spend some time home with my beautiful girls. I love being a mother and am thankful to the GNFC for all that it provides and for the hundreds of other mothers in the GNFC who are also so passionate about being parents. In my spare time, I love relaxing with my daughters and my husband, exercising, visiting friends and family and enjoying a glass of wine or two!-->

Hello! My name is Corinne Poor and I’m very excited to serve on the 2014 Board for Greater Newburyport Mothers and Families Club.
I’ve been married to my husband, Greg, for 5 years and we have two beautiful boys ages 4 and 3. Cameron and Tanner are 13 months apart to the day (almost to the minute). I currently work part-time as the HR Manager at Flagship Press, Inc. in North Andover. Founded in 1950, by my husband’s grandfather; Flagship is still a family owned and operated company. Prior to meeting my husband, I lived in New York City for 7 years. During that time I attended college, graduated with a degree in marketing, was employed with the Knicks/Rangers and Sundance Channel. Both positions proved to be challenging and rewarding, my favorite role in both jobs was assisting in celebrity/VIP event planning. I worked directly with celebrities and “their” people to make sure everything was as it should be, with zero errors and completely confidential. Needless to say…I pay great attention to detail.
Since joining the group in September 2013, GNFC has already proved to be a wonderful group, with fun activities/resources for the entire family. I look forward to meeting new faces and reconnecting with familiar faces too!
Role: Newsletter Designer
Role: Community Outreach
My name is Kristen Donahue, and this is my third year volunteering for the GNFC Board. Our family moved to Newburyport six years ago for my husband's job, and I feel so lucky we came to this area. Newburyport and the surrounding towns have so much to offer. We especially love the playgrounds, Plum Island, the bike path and Maudsley State Park. I taught Spanish for ten years before deciding to be at home with my kids, and I'm grateful that Newburyport is such a fabulous place to be a stay-at-home mom. One of the greatest sources of support, connection and entertainment for our family has been the GNFC. We've enjoyed lots of fun events over the years and have had the chance to meet many wonderful people. I am looking forward to helping out on the Newsletter team this year!
My name is Margot Kopp, and I will be serving on the Board this year as a Copy Editor for the newsletter. My husband and I moved our family to the Newburyport area only a little over a year ago, and the GNFC was an amazing resource to us in our transition here. It helped us to quickly feel knowledgable about and included in this wonderful community, and I am excited to be more involved with the Club this year. I'm also looking forward to making new friends who share such enthusiasm for the Newburyport area and the young families who live here.
I have three children: Jonah, 7, and Reid, 4, and a baby girl named Eliza. We also have a big old mutt named Wynn, and we are waiting to welcome a certified assistance dog into our home sometime this year to support our oldest son. So, our little house is full and busy, and it's sometimes crazy, but it's so much fun! I feel lucky to be a mom to three amazing kids and a wife to a great guy. One of these days, I'll return to work in the writing/editing field or possibly with students with special needs, but for now, I feel blessed to be caring for my family. If you'd like to contact me, you can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hi, My name is Jackie Joyce and I’m new to the board this year. We moved to Newburyport last year and so far really enjoy all that the community has to offer. My husband and I have 4 children, Tristan 8, Avery 7, Sage 4, and Sloane 1. We love to seek out adventures as a family and you can usually find us on some sort of excursion when we have days off. Prior to moving here, we were closer to Boston and had fun exploring that area. I’m looking forward to spending this year planning kid’s outings to find all the fun things to do in this area.
When I’m not with my family, I work part time as a nurse for a large Hospice organization. I love to read, shop, watch movies and spend time with friends. My absolute favorite place to be is the beach and luckily, we are close enough to enjoy it all summer!! If you have any questions about kid’s outings or any that you want to suggest- please feel free to send me an email at email@example.com. I’m excited to meet you all at the events!!
