Here is what we are thinking....

We meet at 8:45a on Sunday morning on the 23rd. We take the 8:52a commuter rail in (kids ride free).  Adults are $11 each way.  You can download the MBTA App, pay cash or credit on the train.

We will then walk over to the museum (0.5mi).  For those wanting a lighter trip, you could drive in and meet us at the Museum around 10:30a.

Things to do at Museum of Science:
  • There is a wonderful toddler section for the younger kids.  You could easily spend 2-3 hours with a 2 year old in this one section.
  • Current Exhibits
  • Live shows
    • Design Challenges 10am, 1:30pm - Participate in a hands-on activity to design, build, and test a prototype solution to a given problem.

    • Lightning! 12:00 and 2:00pm- Explore lightning and storm safety as the world's largest air-insulated Van de Graaff generator hurls indoor bolts.

    • Live Animal 1:30pm - Discover the furry, feathered, and scaly residents of our Live Animal Center.

    • Live Animal Story Time 10:30am - Hear a story and meet its animal star in a presentation made especially for our younger visitors!

    • Science Magic 1PM - Enjoy the science behind magical demonstrations that reveal how "Science is magic that works." (Kurt Vonnegut)

    • Science Snapshot 11am and 12:30pm - Take a closer look at the latest in science and technology in our lives.

Keep in mind the commuter does on run as often on Sunday, so plan on taking the 1:30 or 4:30 train home.  Majority will stay at the Museum until 12:30-1 if you plan on taking the 1:30 train home.  You are welcome to stay as short or long as you wish.

Following the museum some of us will take a more scenic walk through North Point Park and Paul Revere Park.  These parks include a really nice playground, splash pad, skate park and a pedestrian bridge perfect for watching Duck Boats and trains.

Packing list
  • Stroller if your child won't have the energy or you feel more comfortable having kids strapped in versus walikg .5 mile of Boston sidewalks.
  • Plenty of snacks for 2 train rides and a playground
  • Optional lunch
  • Swimsuit and towel if planning on splashpad
  • Suntan lotion
