Join fellow GNFC members for a fun Introduction to Italian Wines!
Thursday, April 4 7-9 pm
South End, Newburyport
(address to be sent to registrants)
Confused by the labels on Italian wines? Wondering what grape is actually in the bottle? Want to expand your knowledge beyond what you typically buy?
Join fellow GNFC members for a fun evening as we learn the basics of Italian wine -- and enjoy sampling a few!
** Limited space available - register early to save a spot!**
Our evening will include:
- Everything you need to know to confidently explore the world of Italian wine
- Generous pours of three wines: prosecco, white, and red
- Hearty snacks paired to the character of the wines sampled
Our host and guide will be Kathy Bechtel, trained chef, food and wine blogger, Italian Wine Professional, and owner of Italiaoutdoors Food and Wine, a local boutique travel company leading tours throughout Italy.
We'll gather together in Kathy's historic South End home to take a journey across Italy. We'll talk about how the Italian regulatory system ends up making Italian wines so difficult to understand, and learn (and taste) some of the better known Italian wines. We’ll talk about how to spot a high-quality prosecco over a lesser one; learn how a prosecco is different from a champagne; and learn a bit about the history of each wine.
